Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about studying in Germany

Can I study in Germany without tuition fees?+
Yes. Most public universities in Germany do not charge tuition fees for EU and international students. Students only pay a semester contribution, which varies depending on the university and usually covers administrative services and, in many cases, public transportation. Private universities, however, charge tuition fees, which vary depending on the university and the degree program.
Is IELTS / TOEFL mandatory?+
Yes, in most cases. However, it depends on the specific requirements of the university and the degree program you are applying to. Some programs may accept previous English-medium education as proof, while others strictly require IELTS, TOEFL, or another recognized English language certificate.
Is German language compulsory for my studies?+
It depends on the language of instruction of the degree program you choose. For an English-taught program, German proficiency is generally not required for admission. For German-taught programs, you must meet the university's required German language level (e.g., TestDaF, DSH, Goethe, or Telc).
Tip: Even if your program is taught in English, learning German is highly recommended — it significantly improves daily life, part-time job opportunities, internships, and future career prospects in Germany.
How much money is required for a Blocked Account?+
The current required amount is €11,904. However, the required amount is determined by the German authorities and may change periodically. It will ensure that you have the latest official information and guide you through the blocked account opening process.
How long does the Visa process take?+
The German student Visa process typically takes 4–6 weeks after your Visa interview. Processing times may vary depending on the German Embassy or Consulate, the time of year, and your individual application.
Tip: Apply for your Visa as early as possible to avoid delays and ensure you receive it before your intended semester begins.
Can I work while studying?+
Yes. International students are allowed to work for 20 hours per week while studying in Germany, subject to the employment limits set by German regulations.
Will you apply on my behalf?+
I provide step-by-step guidance throughout the entire application process, ensuring your application is complete, accurate, and submitted correctly. While you remain the official applicant, I assist with university selection, document preparation, application review, and submission guidance to maximize your chances of admission.
Can you help me find Accommodation?+
Yes. I provide guidance on finding student dormitories, shared apartments (WG), and temporary Accommodation, along with tips to avoid common rental scams.
Which universities should I apply to?+
Every student's profile is different. I recommend universities based on your academic background, CGPA, career goals, language proficiency, and budget—rather than providing generic lists.
